News first broke in our new FORUM:
More about *real* DMHA:

Recently it seems that the bodybuilding supplement industry is once again showing how corrupt it can be, and how both raw materials suppliers in China nor contract manufacturing labs can be trusted without lab tests (WHICH ARE THE LAW).

A recent study lead by Pieter A. Cohen, a Harvard Medical School researcher, found several name brand sports supplements claiming to have DMHA (2-aminoisoheptane / 2-amino-6-methylheptane) to actually contain DMAA (1,3-dimethylamylamine) or 1,4-DMAA! This is very concerning for the supplement industry, for a few reasons.

Kudos to MAN SPORTS for actually having REAL DMAA:

Here at PricePlow we have made it clear that we are all for keeping DMAA legal in pre workouts and other supplements. We are open when it comes to ingredients, but we want WHAT’S ON THE LABEL to be IN THE BOTTLE – nothing more, nothing less!! This is the law, after all!

You can actually read some of our blog posts discussing this.

With that being said, we are not fans of mislabeling supplements. Mislabeling a pre workout with DMHA but really having DMAA, is misleading and outright unethical to the consumer. Odds are, the brands didn’t even know… which would still mean that laws were broken. Here at PricePlow we want to make it very clear that we are against any and all kinds of “lazy” business like that.

The FDA needs to stop playing whack-a-mole with small-time brands and start hammering the contract manufacturers who represent the bottleneck of this problem!

Either way, this recent study confirms that there are some major problems, and probably more than whats listed here, involved in selling you the consumer the wrong ingredients. It could be a manufacturing issue, but either way, it is still the responsibility of the companies selling it and putting their name on it to make sure that doesn’t happen. The FDA just needs to dig deeper than that this time.

We expect some major heads to roll here soon, and the FDA to come down swinging on more than just the DMAA fight. We have expectations that DMHA will be next on the chopping block, and much of that you can thank the mislabeling companies and manufacturers for.
